KNIVES were found during an open land search on a Wirral estate.
This week, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team at Wallasey recovered weapons from the Woodchurch Estate after they received information from residents in the area.
A number of knives found hidden around the estate were recovered during the search.
Members of the local community also spoke to officers and expressed concerns regarding a group of youths gathering in the area. Officers gave residents advice and reassurance.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “Earlier this week officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team at Wallasey acting on information received from the local community carried out an open land search on the Woodchurch Estate.
“Officers also spoke to local residents who expressed concerns regarding groups of youths gathering in the area. Advice and reassurance was given and a small number of knives were recovered.”
