A Wirral charity store is holding a special fundraising event to help buy life-changing specialist equipment for disabled children. 

Held by Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children, the events are part of the Sparkle Day (March 1) celebrations which aims to raise both awareness and funds to help disabled children and their families and have been organised by staff at the Newlife store on Hoylake Road in Moreton.

Newlife helps disabled and terminally ill-children and their families across the UK receive the specialist disability equipment and support they need, including beds, buggies and wheelchairs and to support this have ten stores across the UK which sells brand new clothing and other items donated from more than 200 high street brands.

A week-long eBay auction will begin on Sunday (February 25) and include an Aguero (Manchester City) Collectors Special edition box, tickets to the Tranmere Rovers' V Crawley Town match and  a Courtinho signed boot and an Alun Wyn Jones signed rugby shirt - all of which have been authenticated.

An Everton Signed and authenticated shirt will also be displayed in the store window and bids taken in store next Friday (March 1). There will also be a raffle at The Farmers pub on Netherton Road in Moreton with two two tickets for Tranmere Rovers game against Crawley Town on March 23.

There will also be raffles held at NewLife's Moreton store on Thursday, February 29, Friday March 1 and Saturday March 2 with a wide number of prizes.

Among them will be a TRESemme Hair dryer set, £35 Hair Hub voucher, alcohol, children’s book collections, £45 car valet voucher, New Look handbag, an air fryer, Jaime Carragher framed photo with replica medal, £20 Scott's Butchers voucher, Fiore Cafe, Breakfast for two, Wirral Borough Council, round of golf for four people at Arrowe Park / The Warren and a meal for two at the Anchor Pub.

Newlife's Moreton store manager Nina Barnes said: "Here at Moreton Newlife store we believe that every child should be able to Sparkle, so we are holding a huge three-day event to raise awareness of our charity and to raise much needed funds to be able to help disabled and terminally ill children receive the equipment they need.
