MERSEYRAIL has apologised after "essential engineering works" have led to the temporary closure of a station platform in Ellesmere Port.
The Liverpool-bound platform at Overpool station has been shut for the works, with a rail replacement bus service in operation between Ellesmere Port and Hooton, calling at Little Sutton.
Customers travelling from Overpool for stations towards Liverpool are advised to board the rail replacement bus service to Hooton where they can board a Liverpool-bound train.
Customers travelling from Ellesmere Port to Overpool are advised to board a rail replacement bus to Overpool.
The Ellesmere Port-bound platform at Overpool is unaffected by this engineering work.
A spokesperson for Merseyrail said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
The works began on Sunday, February 18 and are expected to last until the end of service on Wednesday.
