A SELF-CONFESSED fudge lover from Wirral has decided to turn her hobby into her latest business venture.

Collette Robinson, 29, began making homemade fudge from her house in Moreton after loving the sweet treat herself.

Once her friends and family sampled her tasty creations the demand only grew.

She told the Globe: “I was regularly making fudge and gifting it to my friends and family and they would always tell me that I should start selling it.

“I’m a major lover of fudge so it just started with me looking at different recipes on the internet and trying it for myself but then I started branching out and gifting it for Christmas and birthdays.”

Collette began researching to see if there we any similar fudge businesses in the area and after her mum convinced her to take the leap, Collette started her business, Fudged Up, last week.

She said: “I saw people asking on Facebook asking if anyone was selling fudge so I had a look around and saw that people were mostly just selling cakes or milkshakes, and with my mum’s convincing, I thought I'd give it a go.”

Despite only being up and running for a week, Collette said she has already received positive feedback and has had customers reaching out to her from outside the local area.

Collette, who creates all the fudge from her kitchen in Moreton, is currently offering vanilla, salted caramel, Mini Egg, Baileys, Biscoff, and Kinder flavored fudge.

She said: “I’m currently trialling those flavours first but we’ve started doing half Easter eggs with fudge in, so we’ve had a few people after them. I’ve said to people if there are any flavours they can think of we can do it for them.

“So far it’s been great. I’ve had really good feedback up to now.

“Hopefully, if it takes off then I’d be able to hire a space but obviously, it’s very new so I’m just taking each day as it comes at the moment.”
