HUNDREDS of mourners attended the funeral of the former Wirral Radio presenter Johnny Kennedy.

Johnny, from Liverpool, was known by many for presenting Wirral Radio and appearing at the Floral Pavilion. He died on January 24 at the age of 88.

The much-loved entertainer was laid to rest yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, February 14) at Francis Xavier's Roman Catholic Church on Salisbury Street in Everton. Hundreds attended the service, conducted by Bishop Tom Williams, RC Auxiliary Bishop of Liverpool.

His coffin, which was dressed in flowers with a cricket bat resting on top, was brought to the church by a horse-drawn carriage.
