A rugby player from Wirral is in the team taking part in the upcoming Six Nations training camp for England Red Roses.

Daisy Hibbert-Jones, from Bromborough, got her first England Red Roses cap in October 2023.

She signed for Loughborough Lightning in August 2022, winning young player of the year in her 1st season and went on to score the fastest try in women's rugby, playing against her old team Sale at Heywood Road.

At this time Daisy, a former pupil at Wirral Grammar school for girls, had played for England under 20s on three occasions against France away and home and then Scotland.

She signed for Loughborough Lightning and is also a community coach at Northampton Saints and continues to work there.

She was chosen for the Red Roses training squad on September 4 last year and on October 8 was selected into the team to travel to New Zealand for the WXV tournament. She got her cap against Australia on October 20.

She was selected for the Six Nations training camp in January and has now been selected for the training camp in March.

Her proud family hope selection for the Six Nations Tournament Squad will follow.

Daisy started playing rugby at Port Sunlight Rugby Club, before playing for Ellesmere Port Rugby Club Girls. She made her premiership rugby debut playing for Waterloo Rugby Club, before she went on to sign for Sale Sharks.

A statement from the family read: "We are proud of her achievements so far.

"We have seen first hand how much she sacrifices to achieve her goals.

"We all support her in everything she does on and off the pitch."
