A WIRRAL man, who failed to adhere to his licence conditions after being banned from entering Birkenhead Town Centre for three years, has been jailed.
A Criminal Behaviour Order was granted against Daniel New, 33, from Birkenhead.
Obtained by Merseyside Police and Wirral Borough Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour team in December, it was due to persistent anti-social behaviour and associated shoplifting offences committed across Wirral.
The order was granted for a period of three years and prevented New from entering Birkenhead Town Centre, associating with certain individuals, behaving in an anti-social manner and remaining in any shop when asked to leave.
A Merseyside Police statement warned at the time the order was granted: "Criminal Behaviour Orders are extremely effective and should New breach the conditions of this order, he will be arrested, returned to court and may be jailed."
