A MAN and a woman are both in a serious condition after a quad bike and a car were involved in a crash.
The collision between a black Ford Mondeo and a blue and yellow quad bike on Station Road, happened near Birkenhead North Station just before 7pm on Sunday.
Police say two riders of the quad bike, a man and a woman both in their 20s, have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the Ford Mondeo, a 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug and drink driving, unfit through drink and drugs, and causing serious injury by careless driving.
He is in police custody.
A police statement added: "Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 803 of 4 February.
"You can also pass information via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
