THE Wirral group of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) has been chosen as charity of the year by a national company.

The Vital Group - one of the fastest growing critical power service solutions companies in the UK - has its national operations centre in Chester.

It set up a charity committee and after discussing various options the Wirral MNDA group was chosen for their charity for 2024.

Representatives from the MNDA group took up an invitation to meet the committee and outlined the nature of the disease, the role of the MNDA and the group’s activities.

Greasby woman, Sue Hardy, described what her journey has been like living with the illness,  the challenges she has faced and her positive approach to helping others.

“This led to a very constructive and informative discussion and the committee will now look at activities which they can undertake to raise money for our group over the next year,” said Debbie Williams, group chair.

“We are really thrilled that we have been chosen as their charity of the year and we are excited to see the mutual benefits of this partnership.”
