A RARE weather phenomenon - the snowbow - was captured in the skies above Wirral yesterday, Tuesday.
Temperatures plummeted during the night on Monday and there was a blanket of snow covering the ground when people woke on Tuesday morning.
Once the skies cleared there was an atmospheric phenomenon resembling a rainbow but associated with snow visible above the buildings.
Wirral Globe Camera Club members captured the rare sight which takes place when sunlight is refracted through the snowflakes in the air.
A snowbow only happens when the sun is low in the sky and it's snowing.
