TWIN brothers have appeared in court, alongside another man, accused of attempted murder, following a shooting on Wirral's Beechwood estate.

Curtis and James Byrne, both 22, are accused of attempting to murder Mitchell McGraa on May 11, 2022 at Beechwood Drive and Fender Way and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life at the same location.

20-year-old Mason Smith faces the same two charges.

At around 10.40pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 a 17-year-old man arrived at Arrowe Park Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

Police officers rushed to Fender Way on the Beechwood estate in Birkenhead where they found evidence that shots had been fired close to the skate park.

The victim was later discharged from hospital.

Police later confirmed they had arrested an 18-year-old man from Noctorum on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm.

The three men, all of no fixed address, appeared separately at Liverpool Magistrates Court this week and were all further remanded in custody to appear at the city’s crown court on Tuesday, February 13.
