A WIRRAL woman, who has worked for a food service company for 30 years, has been recognised for her "commitment, hard work and loyalty" with a Long Service Award.
Carole Williams, a conference coordinator for Sodexo at Unilever Port Sunlight R&D, has recently returned from a trip to Liverpool in recognition of her 30 years’ service with Sodexo, a provider of food and facilities management services.
Following an informal lunch where Carole met with Sodexo UK & Ireland’s CEO, Sean Haley, Carole spent the afternoon exploring Liverpool and visiting one of its many visitor attractions.
In the evening, Carole joined fellow long service recipients and senior leaders from the organisation at the ACC Liverpool for a three-course celebratory dinner prepared by colleagues from the Sodexo Live! team at the venue.
The Long Service Awards are an annual event to which Sodexo invites its employees with 20, 30, 40 or even 50 years’ service to thank them for their commitment, hard work and loyalty.
This year Sodexo welcomed over 160 colleagues to the event, including two with 50 years’ service.
'We were treated like VIPs'
Carole said: "It was wonderful to join colleagues from across Sodexo in Liverpool to celebrate our long service with the company.
"We were treated like VIPs and we were made to feel truly valued. I enjoy working for Sodexo, it is a people company and it demonstrates its commitment to us through events like this."
Sean Haley, CEO Sodexo UK & Ireland said: "People are at the heart of Sodexo.
"Our business relies on tens of thousands of talented individuals who provide our customers and clients with exceptional service every day.
"This annual event is a great opportunity to show our appreciation for people like Carole, and to show just how much we value and appreciate all the hard work, dedication, and loyalty they have shown over the years.
"At Sodexo we are committed to ensuring our colleagues feel like they belong and are valued, where they can act with purpose and thrive in their career with us."
In the UK and Ireland, Sodexo employs over 30,000 people. It provides catering and a range of facilities management services to clients at more than 2,000 locations in both the public and private sector across many markets including government agencies, business and industry, education, healthcare, justice, leisure and defence.
