MANY film and TV crews have decided to use Port Sunlight as one of their filming locations over the years.
With its "time-capsule feel, beautiful architecture and green spaces", Port Sunlight is an ideal and popular film location.
Port Sunlight has welcomed TV crews from Michael Portillo’s Great Britifosh Railways Journeys, Antiques Road Show, Flog it! and Songs of Praise.
It has also welcomed larger film crews for feature length television programmes and films including the Oscar winning Chariots of Fire (1981), award-winning TV series Peaky Blinders (2013-21) and the biopic of Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien, Tolkien (2019).
Most recently, Bolan’s Shoes (2023) starring Timothy Spall was partly filmed in the village.
A number of other exciting productions are due to be released in the near future.
