A 20-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged after a man was stabbed in an alleged attack on Boxing Day.
Clio Groom, of New Chester Road in Rock Ferry, was due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court today (Thursday, December 28) to face a single charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm against Sam Searson.
Officers were contacted at 1.40pm on Tuesday (December 26) following reports a man in his 30s had been assaulted at a property on New Chester Road in Rock Ferry.
He suffered stab wounds to both legs and a slash injury to the shoulder.
The man, identified on court papers as Mr Searson, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Liverpool Echo reported that Groom and Mr Searson were believed to be in a relationship, with past pictures of them together shared on social media.
Links to the Elle Edwards murder case
Mr Searson's name was brought up in the Elle Edwards murder trial earlier this year.
On December 23, 2022, he was the subject of an attack by two men linked to the Beechwood estate gang, Kieran Salkeld and Jake Duffy.
In footage shown to the court in February taken from a Ring video doorbell camera, Mr Searson was seen running before Salkeld confronted him and pushed him through a gate and into the front garden of a house.
Duffy then joined the attack and the pair were seen repeatedly punching and stamping on Mr Searson's head after he was pushed to the ground.
The incident was referred to in court during the trial of Connor Chapman, 23, for the murder of Elle Edwards.
Earlier this year, Liverpool Crown Court heard Elle's death was the "culmination" of a vicious feud between two rival gangs based in the Woodchurch and Beechwood estates in Wirral.
Detectives established that Connor Chapman, from Woodchurch, was attempting to shoot Salkeld and Duffy, when he fired 12 shots at the pub.
Salkeld was sentenced to 27 months in prison and Duffy to two years and the pair were issued with two-year gang injunctions at Liverpool County Court in September.
