A HOUSING association has been spreading Christmas cheer across Wirral.

During December, the Magenta Living team visited neighbourhoods across the borough and invited customers and their children to visit Santa and the elves at their Merry Magenta Christmas Grotto.

Volunteers also visited more than 500 properties to check on their customers and to offer support and advice.

Magenta Living’s Community Regeneration Manager, Adam Woodcock, said: “We know the festive period can be a challenge for some of our customers, so we wanted to get out in the community and show that we are here to help. The children really loved meeting Santa in his fabulous grotto right on their doorstep.”

The team visited Bebington, Birkenhead and Prenton and gave away 300 selection boxes and more than 400 goody bags to children.

Wendy Gooley, a Magenta customer and Chair of the Magenta Communities Committee, said: “Happy Magenta Christmas.  Santa was amazing along with all the elves and helpers, what amazing events. So happy to have the opportunity to be part of it.

“I love what Magenta does for its communities - the community regeneration team smashed it.”
