A LITHUANIAN woman was found dead in an Ellesmere Port park.
AN inquest has been opened into the death of a Lithuanian woman whose body was found in a park in Ellesmere Port.
31-year-old Gintare Ceidiene, of Gudžiūnai in the Kėdainiai district of Lithuania, was found in woodlands at Whitby Park on November 30.
Cheshire Police were called at the time to reports of concern for the welfare of a woman.
A spokesperson for the force said: “At 11.41am on Thursday, November 30, police were called to a park on Stanney Lane, Ellesmere Port, following reports of a concern for welfare of a woman.
"Officers attended and sadly a 31-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
At Cheshire Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, December 13, senior coroner Jacqueline Devonish opened an inquest into Ms Ceidiene’s death.
A case review will take place on February 11 ahead of the full inquest on April 17, 2024.
