AN independent film featuring a Tranmere Rovers supporter will have a special Wirral premiere next month.
Our Kid follows the Reillys, a working-class family who learn to deal with adversity through humour.
12-year-old Laura’s goal in life is to one day play football professionally. Laura has many footballing heroes, but it’s her older brother Thomas, a Tranmere Rovers super fan, who’s her biggest hero.
His inspirational quest to raise money for charity through a sponsored bike ride, while overcoming the challenges he faces from his cerebral palsy, shows Laura and the rest of the community what determination and perseverance can achieve.
The cast features household names such as Connor McIntyre, Ricky Tomlinson, Louis Emerick, Leanne Best, John McArdle, and the late Jake Abraham and features a new young actress, Poppie Jae Hughes.
The screenplay, by Daniel P Lewis, weaves a "compelling narrative inspired by his real-life cousin".
The Wirral premiere will take place on Friday, December 11 from 7pm at the Light Cinema in New Brighton.
There will be a chance to see the cast, as well as see past and present players from Tranmere and Liverpool football clubs.
Not only will you be treated to an exclusive screening, but your ticket purchase will contribute to local charities.
The funds raised will support Tranmere Rovers in the Community and the cerebral palsy charity, Stick 'n' Step.
