A CHILD has been taken to hospital with "serious injuries" after being hit by a car in Ellesmere Port.
At around 3.30pm today (Thursday, November 9) police were called to reports that a red Vauxhall Zafira had hit a pedestrian on Hope Farm Road, Great Sutton.
Emergency services in attendance, which included North West Air Ambulance, found that a child had sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Alder Hey Hospital for further checks.
Road closures are in place on Overpool, Broadland and Capenhurst.
Cheshire Police have advised motorists to avoid the area while the incident is dealt with.
A spokesperson for North West Air Ambulance Charity added: "We can confirm that the North West Air Ambulance Charity was called to an incident in Ellesmere Port on November 9 and H72 responded."
