A MERSEYSIDE independent film featuring a Tranmere Rovers supporter is set to make its Liverpool premiere.
Our Kid, the comedy-drama, follows the Reillys, a working-class family who learn to deal with adversity through humour.
12-year-old Laura’s goal in life is to one day play football professionally. Laura has many footballing heroes, but it’s her older brother Thomas, a Tranmere Rovers superfan, who’s her biggest hero.
His quest to raise money for charity through a sponsored bike ride, while overcoming the challenges he faces from his cerebral palsy, shows Laura and the rest of the community what determination and perseverance can achieve.
The film features scenes filmed at Prenton Park and several crowd scenes shot at the Open Day earlier this year.
Ricky Tomlinson (‘The Royle Family’), Leanne Best (‘Tin Star’), Mark Moraghan (‘Holby City’), and Louis Emerick (‘Layer Cake’), also star in the film.
The film, directed by Sean Cronin, first premiered on Sunday, October 29 at Curzon Mayfair as part of the Raindance Film Festival.
The Liverpool premiere will take place at the Plaza Community Cinema in Waterloo on Wednesday, November 5 at 7pm and tickets are available.
