A MERSEYSIDE independent film featuring a Tranmere Rovers supporter is set to premiere in London this Sunday (October 29) as part of the Raindance Film Festival.
Our Kid follows the Reillys, a working-class family who learn to deal with adversity through humour.
12-year-old Laura’s goal in life is to one day play football professionally. Laura has many footballing heroes, but it’s her older brother Thomas, a Tranmere Rovers superfan, who’s her biggest hero.
His inspirational quest to raise money for charity through a sponsored bike ride, while overcoming the challenges he faces from his cerebral palsy, shows Laura and the rest of the community what determination and perseverance can achieve.
Ricky Tomlinson (‘The Royle Family’), Leanne Best (‘Tin Star’), Mark Moraghan (‘Holby City’), and Louis Emerick (‘Layer Cake’), star in the film, bringing their much-loved personalities to this powerful story.
Several scenes in the film were shot at Prenton Park which are featured in the trailer.
The film, directed by Sean Cronin, is set to premiere this Sunday, October 29 at 8pm at Curzon Mayfair.
Keep an eye out for the film coming to local independent cinemas soon.
