A WIRRAL mum whose life changed 'for the better' after losing just over two stone is using this success to shape a whole new career helping other people achieve their weight loss dreams too.

Becky Higham, from Bebington, has trained as a consultant for Slimming World.

She managed to lose two and a half stone, but admits she has always struggled with her weight since her teens.

Trying different fad diets along the way, saw Becky’s weight 'yo-yo continuously', before regaining any weight lost and gaining more besides.

Becky said: "We all want that quick easy fix, but the reality is that it's not sustainable long term and just doesn’t work. Changing habits of a lifetime takes time, commitment and support.

"I needed the support of the group to help me move forward with my weight loss and identify those ingrained habits by understanding my unhealthy relationship with food.

"I feel more in control now, I love the fact that I’m never hungry as I love food, who doesn't and I'm still losing weight, even going through the menopause isn’t stopping me, Yes You Can lose weight through the menopause.

"I feel healthier, happier and finally fallen in love with myself again. It's such a great feeling and that's why I want to help others to feel this way too.

"Obesity is becoming such a huge issue across the UK. When I first joined Slimming World as a member, I never dreamed that I would end up helping other people to lose weight but now I just can’t wait to get started.

"As someone who has lost weight myself, I know the challenges people can face, being a single mum, losing myself as priorities took over in order to focus on bringing up my girls, not prioritising me resulted in me gaining weight, which then led to self-loathing and not liking what I saw, hiding from the camera and avoiding mirrors at all costs.

"I will be there to support every one of my members all the way to their chosen target weight. Setting targets, sharing recipes and other ideas, and working together as a group to overcome challenges and celebrate success is so important to a successful journey."

Christine Robinson-Lloyd, who runs her Slimming World group in Ellesmere Port and supports Becky as a team developer, said: "With Becky’s experience of being a successful Slimming World member, her positive and cheery personality and great sense of humour I just know that she’ll be an amazing support to her members, cheering them all the way to their target weight.”

Becky’s Slimming World group will be held at Heswall Football Club, Brimstage Road every Monday at 9am and 5.30pm from October 30. For more information call her on 07914114750.
