SEVEN Wirral schools have been shortlisted for this year's Educate Awards.

The honours recognise the work of schools and colleges across Merseyside and Cheshire which are delivering outstanding education and helping students achieve their full potential.

The awards ceremony will take place at Liverpool Cathedral on  Friday, November 17.

The Wirral nominees are:

  • Bedford Drive Primary School - shortlisted for the 'outstanding commitment to sport in a primary school' sward

  • Birkenhead Sixth Form College - shortlisted for the 'most inspirational sixth form and college' award
  • Heswall Primary School - shortlisted for the 'outstanding commitment to the environment' award
  • Riverside Primary School - shortlisted for the 'most inspirational primary school' award
  • Ridgeway High School - shortlisted for the 'careers and enterprise award
  • St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School - shortlisted for the 'outstanding commitment to sport in a primary school' award
  • St Mary’s Catholic College - shortlisted for the 'innovative and creative literacy' award

For over a decade, the Educate Awards have shone a spotlight on the education sector, showcasing the fantastic work of schools and colleges that are continually delivering an outstanding education and supporting young people to reach their full potential.
