ALDI has confirmed the opening date for their new store in Prenton.

Yesterday (Tuesday, October 3) signage was spotted by residents outside the new store, which is located on Woodchurch Road.

The sign confirmed that the store will be opening on Monday, November 23.

An Aldi spokesperson said: "The Prenton store will open to customers at 8am on November 23 2023."

Residents have been quick to react to the news on social media.

One wrote: "Thank God...Can't bloody wait for it to open..."

Another said: "Was there yesterday, looks good."

Aldi looks to open other stores in Wirral

Last month Aldi also confirmed that Upton and New Brighton are possible locations for new stores along with a number of other sites across Merseyside.

According to a statement released Aldi is searching for "freehold town-centre, edge-of-centre, and retail park sites suitable for property development.

"The sites should be able to accommodate a 20,000 sq foot store with around 100 parking spaces. Ideally, the location will be near a main road with good visibility and access."
