A GROUP of Liverpool-based drag queens will host an event in Birkenhead to pay tribute to Paul O'Grady's alter-ego Lily Savage.
The group will honour the Birkenhead-born star while raising money for Carla Lane Animals in Need because of Paul's love for dogs.
Drag queens, Filla Crack and Dross will host Savage!, which will see quirky Lily-themed market stalls, art designs, the famous Liverpool dish 'Scouse', and drinks all on offer.
Speaking to the Globe, Filla, from Kirkby, said: "When Paul passed he was an icon for Liverpool and in the drag community. He got into mainstream media and opened a ton of doors for drag queens.
"Carla Lane was sharing posts about having empty shelves and not being able to feed the dogs and I just thought Paul would've done something about it.
"We need to take inspiration from someone who could be a caricature and a clown on TV but also had a heart to do better work."
When the day gets dark, everyone will be invited to move inside Birkenhead Arts Palace, on Whitford Road, where eight or nine drag queens will put on a big drag show for attendees.
Performers include Married and First Sight's Thomas Hartley as his drag persona Pam Sandwich and RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Sister Sister.
Fila added: "The performances will all be Lily themed. No one is taking any money for this, it's about raising money for Carla Lane."
The event will begin at 5pm on Sunday, October 8 and is free to attend.
