A lantern walk in aid of Claire House children's hospice will take place next month.
A brand new fundraising event in aid of the charity, it takes place on Saturday, October 14, starting at the Eureka! Science + Discovery at Seacombe Ferry Terminal.
The 2.5km walk finishes in New Brighton and starts at 6.30pm as the sun sets.
The route is accessible to all and everyone gets a lantern at the start, lit with an electric tea light.
Events fundraiser, Mark Pearson, said: "For 25 years, Claire House has been a light in the dark for so many local families.
"The Claire House Lantern Walk is the perfect opportunity for families and groups to walk together, light the way and walk in memory of a loved one.
"There aren’t many other charity lantern walks in the local area, so we hope that the community can come together and make this a really special event.
"The walk is for all ages and abilities and there’ll be entertainment along the way as people walk along the promenade."
Kerri Lewis, from Liverpool, is taking part in the walk with her family. She said: "We are doing the Lantern Walk for our daughter Ruby, who passed away four years ago. She loved staying at Claire House for respite.
"She had such a special bond with all the staff there, as did we.
"It was a big part of our lives, and we couldn't have got through some of our toughest times, especially at the end, without the support from Claire House.
"Claire House remains a massive part of our life and we still get so much support from them.
"Claire House holds such a special place in our hearts and we owe so much to them. This is why we are doing the walk, to give back to one of the best places with the best staff.”
