A lantern walk in aid of Claire House will take place next month.
A brand new fundraising event in aid of the children’s hospice, it takes place on Saturday, October 14, starting at the Eureka! Science + Discovery at Seacombe Ferry Terminal.
The 2.5km walk finishes in New Brighton and starts from 6.30pm as the sun sets. The route is accessible to all and everyone gets a lantern at the start, lit with an electric tea light.

Events Fundraiser, Mark Pearson, said: “For 25 years, Claire House has been a light in the dark for so many local families.
"The Claire House Lantern Walk is the perfect opportunity for families and groups to walk together, light the way and walk in memory of a loved one.
"There aren’t many other charity lantern walks in the local area, so we hope that the community can come together and make this a really special event.
"The walk is for all ages and abilities and there’ll be entertainment along the way as people walk along the promenade.
"On the night we hope to raise £50,000 to fund our vital care, which is needed now more than ever."
