FLORAL tributes have been laid in memory of a man in his 30s who died following a serious crash on a main road on Wirral.
A motorbike was in collision with a Citroen C3 Aircross car at the junction of Hesketh Way and New Chester Road in Bromborough at about 7.10pm on Sunday (September 10).
Merseyside Police, North West Ambulance Service and air ambulance helicopter attended at the scene.
The 35-year-old motorcyclist, named locally as 'Aaron', was treated by paramedics at the scene, but unfortunately died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. A police investigation has been launched, with CCTV and witness enquiries ongoing.
Floral tributes were left at the scene and messages of condolence posted on social media.
Among the floral tributes was a note that read: "Aaron, God took you home too soon and I tried my best to save you, but couldn't. Fly high, rest easy. Sleep tight, love Emma xxx'"
Another read: "RIP mate, gone too soon. Terry."
Another read 'RIP Azza, love Team Bateman'
Posting on social media, Max Green commented: "May the heavenly biker Angels take you there. R.I.P. Condolences to family and friends.
"Death is never the end, it's just a new different journey of one's existence."
Claire Jones put: "So sorry for the young man and his family, so devastating."
Jay Ross wrote: "So sorry for the biker and his family. May he rest in peace,"
Lindsay Stevens described the news as 'Heartbreaking.
Cheryl Hallas commented: "Awful news thinking of his family and friends."
Police closed the road in both directions, from Mill Road to Port Causeway, while officers deal with the incident.
Sergeant Simon Duffy from the Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "We are continuing to appeal for anyone who was travelling along New Chester Road, particularly between Ferry Road and Hesketh Way, at around 7.10pm last night who saw anything to contact us.
"We are particularly keen on anyone with a dashcam to come forward if they think they captured a motorbike travelling in that area. Any information could be vital to our investigation."
