BIRKENHEAD Library will host a special matine show this weekend by critically acclaimed singer songwriter Iraina Mancini.
A firm favourite at BBC Radio 6 Music, Mancini has been described by The Times as "full of femme fatale poise and swooning chanteuse flourishes" with her debut album Undo The Blue out now.
With all tracks on the album written by Mancini, it’s a record that also finds her collaborating with a who’s who of musical talents including Simon Dine (Paul Weller), Jagz Kooner (David Holmes, Primal Scream) and Sunglasses For Jaws (Miles Kane), who have all produced the record along with additional production from Erol Alkan (The Killers, Duran Duran, Ride). The album was released on Needle Mythology Records, the label founded by music writer, author and broadcaster Pete Paphides.
Her latest single, What You Doin’, also features an appearance from Wirral rocker Miles Kane.
Mancini said: “I wrote What You Doin’ about someone not being able to see what's right in front of them, and If they don't act soon, then you're not waiting around!
"It's got a lot of attitude and confidence. I love the live feel the song has, it was great to have Miles Kane come down to the studio to jam on the track. His part added an extra sprinkle of magic to the song.”
Mancini is now preparing to take her music out on the road for what will be her first major UK tour. Speaking about the upcoming run, shes says:
“I'm so excited to announce I will be finally taking my live show out on the road! It’s been such a joy recording my debut album, and now I get to bring it to life around the country.“
