Husband and wife team Victoria and Andrew opened the coffee shop on Thingwall Road in Irby 13 years ago and their children Hannah and James have helped in between their studies.
Aroma is open seven days a week serving breakfast and lunch as well as cakes and afternoon tea along with a wide selection of drinks.
They hold private events for customers wanting to celebrate a special occasion serving buffets, afternoon teas and even three course meals.
Victoria said: “We firmly believe that when visiting Aroma we should all do our best serving the customers, allowing them to sit back, chat and relax and let us do the rest.
“Many of our customers have been with us from the beginning, from day one, and have seen our children grow from a young age.
“They’ve always taken an interest into what they are doing, which is lovely.
“Our wider staff family past and present have played a huge part in our success and we couldn’t operate without them.
“They work so hard and always with a smile - always going that extra mile - they really are the best!”
She added: “After 13 years in business we owe so much to our children for often having to give up their own plans to support Aroma, especially during the really hard times.
“Together we all make it the special place it is - even if some days it’s a miracle that we all go home still speaking to each other!”
But what do the customers think about Aroma? Why did they think the coffee shop should win our latest Best of 2023 award?
One happy customer said this place is amazing and serves “the best breakfasts in Wirral”.
They added: “Not to mention the amazingly friendly and hardworking staff.”
Another recommended the delicious lemon drizzle cake and fresh coffee.
Victoria said: “We were thrilled to be shortlisted for Best Coffee Shop along with so many other small, independent businesses, all of which deserve support during such difficult times.
“To then be announced as the winner was unbelievable.
“After 13 years - a very long time in hospitality – it’s fantastic that people still enjoy coming to the coffee shop and support us.
“It’s overwhelming.
“A huge thank you to our customers - it’s certainly you that drive us to do our best every day.
“The fact that you all still enjoy visiting Aroma makes us so proud.”
