NEW Brighton Beach has been named the best beach in the North West, according to a study.
Car rental company SIXT collated a list of the top 300 beaches in England from TripAdvisor and ranked them based on several factors to uncover the best beaches to visit this summer.
They gave each beach a score out of 10 on each factor before calculating their average to give a total out of 10.
New Brighton Beach was crowned the winner for the North West region.
With great views of the Mersey, and a historic lighthouse, there are many features that make New Brighton Beach better than the rest.
A spokesperson for SIXT said: "Located in the North East corner of the Wirral peninsula with striking views over the Liverpool skyline, our study has crowned Wallasey Beach as the best beach in the North West. The beach has a glowing 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor and ‘excellent’ water quality.
"As well as being a popular location for families with young children, due to the leisure development of Marine Point, and community built driftwood boat named the Black Pearl, the beach also welcomes dogs all year round."
Here is a list of the top-rated beach in every English region by SIXT:
- South West - Perranporth Beach (Perran Sands)
- South East - Shanklin Beach
- East Midlands - Mablethorpe Town Beach
- North West - New Brighton Beach
- North East - Whitley Bay
- Yorkshire and the Humber - Filey Beach
