HOYLAKE and West Kirby RNLI are inviting the public to step aboard their lifeboats and meet the volunteer crews this weekend in aid of the lifesaving charity’s local search and rescue service.
The ‘meet and greet’ day takes place on Saturday (August 19) from 10am until 4pm at Hoylake Lifeboat Station.
Visitors will have the chance to tour Hoylake’s all-weather Shannon class lifeboat and Inshore Rescue Hovercraft and West Kirby’s inshore IB1 lifeboat.
The stations’ launch and recovery vehicles will also be on display, including Hoylake’s Shannon Launch and Recovery System (SLARS) and West Kirby’s Hagglund BV206 launch vehicle - the only vehicle of its kind based on station in the RNLI.
Beatles night
MIKE Byrne and the Beatmasters present a special show in tribute to The Beatles at Heswall British Legion this weekend.
The Beatles the early days including music, stories and pictures, at the venue on Pensby Road on Sunday, starting at 8pm, doors open 7.30 pm. Admission is £8 for visitors and £5 for legion members.
Hello Dolly
TICKETS are now available for St Paul's Musical Theatre Company's production of Hello Dolly.
The show will be staged at The Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight from October 11-14.
This classic American musical follows the strong-willed widow, Dolly Levi, in her pursuit of wealthy, tight-fisted, Horace Vandergelder, whilst spreading joy and confusion among everyone she comes into contact with in 1885 New York.

Choral concert
BIRKENHEAD Choral Society is performing a free concert at Birkenhead Priory this Saturday in memory of Charles Scarret, founder and conductor of the choir 80 years ago at Cammell Laird. The concert starts at 2pm; space limited on first come basis.
Art exhibit
THE Rotary Club of North Wirral’s annual art exhibition is at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton this week. Hundreds of pieces of artwork will be on view during the event - at the riverside venue until Sunday.
It starts with a preview event tonight (Monday, August 14) taking place from 6 to 9.30pm in the Plaza and Panoramic Lounge areas of the Floral. Tickets for tonight are £20, which includes buffet and dessert.

Rock 'n' roll
CHESHIRE Cats' rock 'n' roll fundraising nights take place every Wednesday from 7.30pm until 11pm at The Poulton Victoria Club on Poulton Bridge Road Wallasey.
Entrance is £1-50. It's a chance to dance to music from the 1950s, '60, '70s and country music from four resident bands plus one guest band Every week. All Monies raised benefits Local Sick Children. Claire House is the main benefactor.
Welsh society
BIRKENHEAD Welsh Society's opening meeting of its new session will be held next month..
It takes place on Monday, September 11 at Seion Welsh Chapel on Laird Street in Birkenhead, starting at 2pm. All Welsh speakers and learners welcome.

Oxton University of the third age (U3A) holds fortnightly meetings at Trinity with Palm Grove Church, Alton Road, Birkenhead.
It’s described as a chance to make the most of Life once you are no longer in full-time work and keep active in mind and body. During its open meeting on Thursday, August 31 all groups will be present with details of a range of interesting Activities and Speakers. It starts at 10am.
