A NEW thriller-mystery short film shot in Wirral will premiere later this month at an event in Leasowe.
Keith Bisset, from Birkenhead, has spent his life in the film industry. He spent 25 years in London, where he attended drama school and trained to be an actor.
He then started to direct plays in theatres, teach drama in various schools, and then make his own films.
Last year, Keith and actor Michael Joseph Carr worked together to create, direct and produce a short film that was shot in Liverpool. It won best short film at the Liverpool Independent Awards.
How Do You Live With It, Freddy? is Keith and Michael's final short film, before they venture into their feature film debut.
Apart from the boardroom scenes being shot at The Liver Building in Liverpool, the whole film was shot entirely on the Wirral, with locations such as Leasowe Castle Hotel and Bidston Hill appearing in it.
The team shot for seven days, with ex-Brookside actor John McArdle starring as hitman Halvey.
Keith, 61, said: "A lot of the cast are local. It took me a while to cast because I wanted to get it right.
"The short film is a thriller, come mystery, come supernatural with a twist in the end."
How Do You Live With It, Freddy? tells the story of Carla Douglas (Zara Hadeshian) and Freddy Douglas (Michael Joseph Carr) who are a wealthy estranged couple. Carla hires hitman Halvey (John McCardle) to kill Freddy but things don't go according to plan. Kristin Jaap plays Freddy's secretary.
Two young strangers, Heather (Courtney Cash) and Shaun (Benjamin Kinraid) arrive at the house, and are quite mysterious, and there is something about them and the hitman, that all "gels together" at the end.
The film will be screened at Leasowe Castle Hotel on Friday, August 25 from 7pm. There will be a DJ, buffet and a third of the money from each ticket sold will go to homeless charity Wirral Ark.
Keith added: "It should be a great evening that will also raise money for a charity. It is really upsetting to see homeless people.
"I just feel like we could do a lot more as a country to help these people. For me, it is just heartbreaking and I thought it would be great if we could raise some money."
