A WIRRAL pub has announced when it will be reopening.
The Argyll & Sutherland on Plymyard Avenue in Eastham will be reopening this month after it closed for a £170,000 refurbishment on Monday, July 31.
The outside of the pub will feature new signage, lighting and café-style seating at the front. It will also make over the garden, adding lighting, planting and new furniture including modern high bar-style seating.

Whilst The Argyll & Sutherland will remain a traditional local, it will be completely revamped with a city centre bar design. The overhaul will replace everything in the pub from the furniture to the flooring. New features will include booth seating, contemporary wall art, timber flooring and a modern bar with steel shelving.
A spokesperson for The Argyll & Sutherland told the Globe: “Our launch party is open to everyone and is the first opportunity to have a look at the huge transformation. We look forward to welcoming the Eastham community and Andy Kelly, the pub operator can’t wait to meet everyone.
“Saturday 12 we will be open from midday and have a bouncy castle and face painter for the children followed by a DJ and sax player in the evening. We will also be showing all the live sport all day.
“On Sunday 13 we open at midday and have the live sport on with big fixture Chelsea v Liverpool at 4:30pm followed by a live singer at 6:30pm
“There will be a big focus on live entertainment and sport with a stage for live music and a dedicated sports zone with new large HD TV screens, pool table and dart boards.”
The Argyll & Sutherland will open early evening on Friday, August 11.
