WITH the start of The Open fast approaching you may be wondering where you can grab a pint during the event.

Around 250,000 people are expected to visit Wirral for The 151st Open Golf Championship this week.

The tournament is being held at Royal Liverpool Golf Club from Thursday (July 20) until Sunday, July 23.

Here is a list of pubs you can visit while in Hoylake this week.

The Ship Inn

The Ship, located on Market Street, is ready for The Open.

It is open from 10am each day to serve its breakfast and brunch Menu.

From Wednesday, July 19 Hardy's Events & Catering will be taking over the pub to deliver al fresco breakfasts for the rest of the week, with specialty-themed evening meals each evening as well.

They have a big screen up so you can watch all of The Open action.

The Ship is located at 80 Market St, Hoylake, CH47 3BB.

The Lake

The Lake is a traditional British pub in the heart of Hoylake. The pub is dog friendly and is plays live music and sport over the weekend.

For The Open they will be opening at 10am each day, with live coverage of The Open on Sky Sports all week.

They also have live performances from Tom Pitts Music, Raised On Vinyl and Beating Sleepers throughout the week.

The Lake is situated at 36 Lake Pl, Hoylake, CH47 2DW.

The Black Toad

The Black Toad is a craft beer micropub and bottle shop. It has a beer garden and is dog friendly.

They are selling golf ball toad logo t-shirts ahead of The Open for customers and visitors to buy.

They also have a back garden bar set-up. On draught, they have Brooks Toad in the 19th hole, Polly's New Seasons 5.1% pale, Glen Affric Onto the Beach Pineapple and Grapefruit Pale 4.8%, Black Lodge Baltic Pale 4.2% and Baltic Pilsner 4.4%.

The Plasterers Arms

The Plasterers Arms is a quieter, traditional two-room pub, serving a variety of quality, cask-conditioned ales, beers and wines.

They have live performers every weekend, and karaoke nights, and will be ready to welcome customers while The Open takes place in the borough.

The Green Lodge

Finally, is The Green Lodge. They are preparing to welcome visitors for The Open and are serving breakfast from 6.30am to 11am until Sunday, July 23 (takeaway available). Their lunch and BBQ menu is being served from 12pm to 8pm.

They also have a new Pub Hub and additional bar areas in their garden, including an outdoor gin bar.
