A COUPLE who both work as volunteers for RNLI New Brighton have announced they are expecting a baby.
Tom McGinn and Emily Craven, who both serve as volunteer crew with New Brighton on their Atlantic-85 lifeboat, announced recently they were expecting the birth of their first child, this coming January.
The McGinn family has a strong presence on the crew at New Brighton RNLI. Mark McGinn, Tom’s dad, is a current DLA (Deputy Launch Authority) for the station, whilst mum Sharon volunteers in the shop and with the fundraising teams. Ben McGinn, Tom’s brother, is also a volunteer on the boat crew.
Tom and Emily got engaged on the Atlantic-85 lifeboat during an exercise a couple of years ago, and retain a "very strong bond" with New Brighton RNLI indeed as valued volunteer lifesavers.

Dan Wardle, acting LOM (Lifeboat Operations Manager), said: "We are all so thrilled to hear Tom and Emily’s great news.
"The volunteering that they and their family do for the station is invaluable and is a perfect example of how we are all one crew, from those on the boats saving lives at sea, to those in the shop and across the various teams, to families and those at home who support our crew every day."
