A JAZZ dancing duo from Ellesmere Port has been named the 26th best in the world.
Charlotte Forsyth and Poppy Crosby, both eight-years-old, are members of Shadazzle School of Performing Arts, Dance and Cheerleading.
The group was set up by Charlotte's mum, Laura Forsyth, in 2016 as a place where children could dance without the pressures of competitions.
Charlotte and Poppy, known as 'PopChar', attended the Dance World Cup 2023 in Braga, Portugal from June 30 to July 8.
The duo competed against 50 countries with 120,000 other children.
Charlotte and Poppy finished in 26th place in the Jazz Duo category, with a score of 81.3%.
Laura said: "The results were all incredibly close and we couldn’t call it. They performed beautifully and with such confidence, sass, technique and bravery.
"I couldn’t be more proud of these little girls from Ellesmere Port."
The pair have worked hard with their choreographer and dance teacher Lucy Lawson, after school and weekends for months to give themselves the best possible chance.
Laura added: "We can’t thank the friends, families and small businesses of Ellesmere Port who sponsored the girls to make it possible for them to get to Portugal to compete in the finals.
"Thank you to DC Beauty & Foot Clinic, Living Wilmslow Wood Flooring Studio, Raine Hair & Beauty, Into First with Louise, Cake It Easy by Amanda, Mascots 2 U, Jems Little Wax Co, RJ Elegance, Shadazzle Cheerleaders.
"PopChar are now back to training at the studio with their Dance and Cheerleading team mates to aim to make it to Cheer Worlds Competition in Florida."
