NATWEST has confirmed that their branch in West Kirby will be closing.
The West Kirby branch, located on Banks Road, will close for good on July 8 2024.
35 other Natwest branches will also be closing across the UK.
Natwest says that when comparing January 2019 and January 2023, counter transactions for personal customers at the branch have decreased by 55%.
Also, in 2022, 65% of personal customers using the West Kirby branch also chose to use Online Banking or the bank's mobile app.
The branch was used by five personal customers on a regular basis in 2022, figures showed.
On their website, Natwest said: "The way people bank with us has changed dramatically in recent years, with an increased demand for mobile and online services as customers benefit from a faster and easier way to bank.
"While we respond to that demand, we recognise our responsibility to provide customers who feel less able to make use of these services with support for the change. That’s why we are communicating with our customers affected by the closure and proactively contacting vulnerable customers and regular branch users.
"We must review our branches and make sure they are in locations where customers use them most."
The nearest branch is on Wallasey Road, 7.9 miles away. However, customers will also be able to use banking services at Post Offices, with the nearest to the closing branch being 0.1 miles away.
