WIRRAL University Teaching Hospital will be holding events for the public and staff to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
The NHS will officially mark its 75th anniversary on Wednesday (July 5) and the Trust and events have been organised to mark the special year.
Celebrations started earlier this year with the NHS Cycle Challenge, organised by the Trust’s WUTH Charity. More than 200 cyclists from across the community, including staff took part and the event raised around £7,000 for the Tiny Stars Neonatal appeal.
An It’s a Knockout and Family Fun Day will also take place in Arrowe Country Park on July 8 to mark the NHS’ 75th year. It is open to everyone in Wirral to enter teams of six to 12 players, with a £10 per person registration fee and a minimum sponsorship of £300 per team. To enter a team please contact WUTH.Charity@nhs.net.
The event has been organised by WUTH Charity and will also include inflatables, stalls, music, refreshments and lots of entertainment.
There will also be a history display in the foyer of Arrowe Park Hospital during the anniversary week and a special playlist set up for people to access on Spotify by looking out for the QR code.
Events are also planned for Trust staff throughout the celebration such as a ‘Big Tea’ event on July 5 which will involve staff and patients.
