A PARKGATE Indian restaurant has been named as a finalist in the English Curry Awards 2023.
The English Curry Awards are now in their 12th year and aim to "shine a spotlight on the remarkable talents and dedication of individuals and establishments within the curry industry."
Britannia Spice, on The Parade, has been named a finalist for Restaurant of the Year for the North West.
The awards ceremony will take place on August 14 at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre.
The finalists were chosen by the public, and organisers say that each finalist has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and authenticity, and has made a significant contribution to the curry scene in their respective regions.
Manager of Britannia Spice, Sam, said: "We are pleased to be nominated in this prestigious award and like to thank our customers, who have clearly nominated us and without them this wouldn't have been possible and to be put us up against some of the giants of our industry.
"A restaurant is like a fantasy for us, a kind of living fantasy in which our diners are the most important members of the cast. A customer is the most important visitor on our premises, they are not dependent on us. We are dependent on them. They are not an interruption in our work, they are the purpose of it.
"They are not an outsider in our business, they are part of it. The hospitality industry is going through a tough time with rising prices and staff shortage, there are many places for sale or closing down, but we may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated, we must continue going with the help of our diners."
