A SCHOOLGIRL from Wirral, who has previously starred in Coronation Street, is set to star in two new releases starring Idris Elba and Bill Nighy.
Lucia Alieu, who is represented by London and MediaCity UK-based talent agency, Scream Management, started her acting career in 2022, when she starred as Maisy Wheatley in Coronation Street.
The Great Meols Primary School pupil is currently training at Stagecoach Wirral and has been cast in high-profile TV shows, commercials and feature films since her soap appearance.
What roles is Lucia playing?
Lucia has also been filming concurrently for two projects coming out this year. Hijack, which will be aired on Apple TV is a seven-part TV thriller, staring and produced by Mr Elba.
Hijack follows the story of passenger jet KA29 flying from Dubai to London. During its seven-hour flight, the plane gets Hijacked by two men travelling to Paris with a demand for $125,000. In the series Lucia plays the daughter of David Miller (played by Marcus Garvey) and Kate Miller (played by Rochenda Sandall).
In the new film Role Play, Lucia plays the daughter of the lead couple, Emma (played by Kaley Cuoco) and Dave (played by David Oyelowo) whose lives turn upside down when their pasts catch up on them.
During filming, Lucia was travelling between Berlin and London, working on both projects concurrently, whilst being tutored on set.
Lucia’s parents Victoria and David said: "We are incredibly proud of Lucia and her astounding achievements to date. Lucia has always been a huge bundle of energy with pure enthusiasm for life, lighting up every room along her way; as parents, she inspires us every day.
"It comes as no surprise that Lucia is driving her dreams forward, she’s determined, resilient with an infectious passion for film. We are so excited for what the future brings on screen.
"Lucia is such an old soul brimming with a quick wit and natural confidence. Lucia has kept us thoroughly entertained since she was born. She has always spoke in different accents, creating characters and shows. She truly has the wildest and most beautiful of imaginations. TV and film were never in doubt."
Jessica Bell, senior talent agent from Scream Management, said: "Lucia has done incredibly well in her career so far and we couldn’t be more of her achievements. She is so enthusiastic about the work she does and is always keen to take on new roles."
Hijack is released on Apple TV on June 28. Role Play is released later this year.
