A WIRRAL dance school was named 'Elite Champions' for the second year running after they attended a UK-wide competition last weekend.
Freedom Dance Studios, which has a studio on Cavendish St in Birkenhead and a pop-up at the Grosvenor Ballroom in Wallasey every Wednesday, travelled to Blackpool, to take part in the Calling U Out Championships at Winter Gardens on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11.
The group, which was founded by Kirsty Murphy, from Wallasey in 2016, is made up of dancers aged five to 18.
Overall, they won an impressive 103 trophies and medals at the competition making them the champions.
There were dance schools from Scotland all the way down to Cornwall.
Speaking to the Globe, Kirsty said: "The teams have only been training together for the past year. We have House of Freedom and Freedom Collective and they've been training since September with the routines they've performed.
"They've done amazing."
The 28-year-old's mission is to bring elite but affordable dance training and opportunities to the Wirral community.
The dance school won four titles at the competition including Under 14 Intermediate Champions for Street, 16+ Advanced Street Champions, 16+ Advanced Contemporary and Under 14 Intermediate Elite Champions.
Kirsty added: "I'm just ecstatic. To be offering what we do for kids in Wirral, and for them to be achieving so much at such a young age is just amazing.
"It's such a big achievement for us, the kids and the parents as well."
