A WIRRAL funeral director has been awarded a “five-star” award ahead of its 5th birthday.
Owens Funeral Directors based in Liscard Village received the prestigious 5 Star Award from The Funeral Guide for its “outstanding service and attention to detail”.
The recent award from the guide was presented after the independent family-run business reached 175 five star reviews on the comparison site standing them top in Wirral for both popularity and price.
Lorraine, who runs Owens with her daughter Alex and husband Mike, told the Globe: “It’s a great honour for myself, my husband Mike, our daughter Alex and the team to be recognised in such a way for our 5th birthday. More importantly, it fills us with so much pride when we hear the wonderful words from the people we help.
“Whereas we know our efforts can’t bring their loved one back, we do everything we can to help them in their process of grief.”
The family are said to “go above and beyond” for bereaved families in the local community. One of Owen’s most popular services is a memory tree at their Liscard premisses which features a personal bauble dedicated to the loved ones they look after.
The business also provides families with forget me not seeds and provides a bespoke jewellery service where Alex handcrafts ashes into personalised pieces.
They also have a completely self-fund a memorial service every December for all the families who have lost loved ones. The annual service takes place at St. Alban’s church in Wallasey and features photographs on the alter and a choir.
