HERE is a round-up of food hygiene ratings for venues across Wirral following inspections in recent months.
New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to Wirral’s restaurants, cafes, takeaways and canteens from March 2023 to May 2023, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
What do different food hygiene ratings mean?
5 - Hygiene standards are very good.
4 – Hygiene standards are good.
3 – Hygiene standards are generally satisfactory.
2 – Some improvement is necessary.
1 – Major improvement is necessary.
0 – Urgent improvement is required.
Here is a round-up of the most recent ratings:
5- Chick'N Hut, at The New Palace, Marine Promenade, New Brighton, was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on March 10.
5 - The Crusty Cob at 113 Wallasey Village, Wallasey Village, was given a score of five on May 10.
5 - Napoli Pizzeria, a takeaway at 79 New Chester Road, New Ferry, was given the maximum score after assessment on March 10.
4 - Mill Lane Fish & Chips, at 59 Mill Lane, Liscard, was given a score of four on April 5.
4 - Royal Sizzler, at 900 New Chester Road, Bromborough, was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 5.
4 - Bonnies Fish & Chips, 170 Borough Road, Seacombe was given the score after assessment on April 19.
4 - Glegg Arms, a restaurant, Chester Road, Gayton was given the score after assessment on May 19.
4 - Mrs T's, at 88 Market Street, Hoylake after assessment on April 12.
4 - Andre's at 136-140 Banks Road, West Kirby, was given the score after assessment on April 17.
3 - Tikka, 11 Upton Road, Moreton, was given the score after the assessment on April 13.
3 - Mayflower, 9 Claughton Firs, Oxton, was given a score of three on March 2.
3 - Mr Pizza Kebab, at 158c Bebington Road, Bebington, was given the score after assessment on March 29.
3 - Oak Bar and Bistro, at Greasby was given the score after assessment on March 13.
3 - Alam Balti House, at Bebington was given a score of three on April 12.
0 - Birkenhead Park Rugby Union Football Club at 141 Park Road North, Birkenhead, was handed a zero-out-of-five rating after assessment on April 5.
0 - Caffe Cream at Marine Point in New Brighton scored zero stars after an inspection on March 14.
