A GROUP in Ness have honoured both King Charles and the late Queen Elizabeth at a special event.
Ness Neighbours is a non-profit group of volunteers, set up to bring the local community closer together and support Ness Village Hall.
In 2022 the group celebrated the Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II by planting a tree in the field by Ness Village Hall.
On Tuesday (May 2) Lousie Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council officically unveiled its plaque.
In line with this, the Ness Neighbours celebrated the coronation of King Charles III. Pictures will be sent in to create a montage which will be available as a digital file and be printed for display in the Village Hall, Neston Town Hall and possibly Ness Gardens.
This project is supported by Neston Town Hall.
Mike Cross, a resident in Ness, said: "That community-minded group in the historic Cheshire village of Ness, Ness Neighbours, celebrated the King’s Coronation in festive style at their regular monthly coffee morning in the village hall.
"Surrounded by patriotic decorations they toasted the health of His Majesty, King Charles, and then gathered outside to record the occasion for posterity with a group photograph.
"But Ness Neighbours were not satisfied with honouring the King, because a year ago they had raised money for a tree to be planted to mark the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and so this day was also the opportunity for Councillor Louise Gittins to unveil the tree’s commemorative plaque dedicated to Her Late Majesty’s memory."
