THE peninsula is set for a cloudy but dry bank holiday this weekend according to weather reports.

Experts from the Met Office have said that Wirral can expect a “mostly dry” weekend with isolated showers and some warmer temperatures.

Today

On Friday (April 28) it will be a grey start to the day with some mist and drizzle. It will become drier with some sunny spells and isolated showers by the afternoon. Meteorologists have said people can expect light winds that will turn breezier. The maximum temperature expected will be 15°C.

Tonight

The evening will remain mostly dry with clear spells and will turn cloudier with patchy fogs. Some showers can be expected by dawn. The minimum temperature expected is 7 °C.

Saturday

On Saturday (April 29) fog patches will quickly clear. However, clouds will thicken resulting in a cloudier day with some clear spells. People can expect a mostly dry day with the odd shower. The maximum temperature expected is 15 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday

Experts have said people can expect patchy clouds and showers on Sunday while Monday and Tuesday will be dry and brighter with warm temperatures and light winds.

Chris Almond, Deputy Chief Meteorologist, said: “By Friday temperatures will have increased so that we will see values around 18-21C across parts of the UK.

“The coming bank holiday weekend itself will be a mixture of brighter conditions and showers. These showers will tend to be heaviest and most frequent in the west on Saturday.

“On Sunday most locations can expect to see at least some showers, whereas on the bank holiday Monday, the focus for showers is more likely to be the east, with drier conditions elsewhere. Temperatures will be reasonable and above average.”
