Wirral Globe Best Of 2023 top eight pie shops revealed

After launching our new Best of 2023 competition in the Wirral Globe earlier this month, we wanted to know where to buy the best pies – sweet or savoury.

In our first Best of 2023 category we were looking at the best hair salons, barbers and independent stylists in the town.

This week, pies were the focus and after receiving dozens of nominations over the weekend we have shortlisted a top eight, who will battle it out to be named the best in Wirral.

But now we need your help to choose an overall Best For Pies winner from our top eight.

There are three ways to vote:

1. Search for the Best for Pies shortlist post on our Wirral Globe Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages and comment under the post with the name of your winner = 1 vote

2. Name your favourite in the comments section on this article via our website = 2 votes

3. Purchase a copy of this week’s Wirral Globe (April 26 edition) and fill in the entry form = 5 votes

Voting officially opens today, Thursday, and closes at midnight on Monday, May 1 and we will be announcing the winner next week.

One recommendation said this family-run business makes “the best pies in Wirral” and another said they “wouldn’t buy a pie from anywhere else”.

One happy customer said: “It’s by far the best bakery in Wirral.

“They get up at 3.30am each day to make fresh pies, bread and cakes – true dedication!”

Pies4U sold at Heswall farmers’ market once a month

With three cheese and caramelised onion, coq au vin and butter chicken fillings as well as vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, there’s something for everything at Pies4U.

The company has already won national awards for their pies, which are all created from the owner’s home in Newton to be sold in West Kirby.
