A MAN in his 60s was taken to hospital and a cannabis farm was found after a house fire broke out on Good Friday (April 7) in Liscard.
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was alerted about the incident on Mill Bank Road, Liscard at 11.45pm and three fire engines were on scene at 11.47pm.
On arrival, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus (BA) were sent in to extinguish the fire and search the property.
Merseyside Police has confirmed that the fire is believed to have been started deliberately and are appealing for information.
Following a search of the property, a large amount of cannabis was found to be growing in two rooms of the three-storey semi-detached property.
The property was made safe and the Cannabis Dismantling Team (CDT) seized all items.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service said: "At the height of the incident two teams of two firefighters in BA, each with hose reel jets were committed and extinguished the blaze soon after.
"All persons were confirmed to be accounted for and firefighters continued damping down the scene while checking for fire spread.
"Following the completion of temperature monitoring checks, no hotspots were identified.
"The scene was handed over to Merseyside Police and our crews left the scene in the early hours of Saturday, April 8 at 3.41am."
Appeal for information
Community Chief Inspector Tom Welch from Merseyside Police said: "If you saw anything or anyone suspicious in the Mill Bank Road area on Friday evening, please come forward as your information could help assist us with enquiries.
"Whether you contact us directly or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers, your information will be acted upon."
