An open-mic poetry night will take place at Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton tomorrow (Wednesday, April 12)
'Poets at The Fort' will be held in the historic waterfront venue's Mess Café.
The event is hosted by Lorraine Logan and Al Peters, with sound and lights by Gordon Logan.
It takes place from 7pm to 10pm. Entry is free.
Put your name down to recite on the night from 6.30pm.
It promises a great welcoming atmosphere, especially for first-time poets of all ages.

Flaybrick walks
A SERIES of guided walks around a Wirral memorial garden is set to begin this weekend.
The tours of Flaybrick Memorial Gardens start on Saturday (April 15).
Organised by the voluntary group Friends of Flaybrick Memorial Gardens, they are a chance to discover the fascinating stories of the past residents of Birkenhead.

Ladies volleyball
HOYLAKE Hurricanes Ladies Volleyball Club meets every Monday at the West Kirby Residential School from 8pm. The team plays all year round, indoors during winter and outside on grass and beach during the summer. Enthusiastic ladies from 16 upwards are welcome. AUDITIONS for St Paul’s Musical Theatre Company’s forthcoming production of Hello Dolly will be held this Sunday (April 16) at the Grosvenor Ballroom on Grosvenor Road in Liscard from 10am to 5pm.

Wyrd Sisters
THE Carlton Players' production of Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters will be staged at the Little Theatre in Birkenhead next week.
Staged from next Tuesday to Saturday (April 18-22), it tells the story of the wicked Duke and Duchess who have murdered the King. The King'baby is smuggled away by the witches and is brought up in a travelling theatre.
