WIRRAL has many walking routes for people to enjoy.
There are coastal routes, country parks, and cliff climbs to explore. Here are five Wirral walks for you to choose from for your Easter Monday stroll.
1. Marine Lake, West Kirby loop route – 2.1 miles.
This route takes around 30 minutes to complete and is perfect for dogs. It's an easy coastal path loop route.
The path loops around the Marine Lake in West Kirby and separates the lake from the beach.
2. Leasowe to Hoylake – 3.5 miles.
This route is a little bit longer, estimated to take around one hour and 20 minutes to complete.
Another coastal walk that is a flat concrete path. The sunset views are beautiful and can hear the sound of the waves as you walk.
3. Royden Park Circular Route – 3.4 miles.
This is a nice woodland route if you are not into coastal walks and takes around one hour 20 minutes to complete.
Royden Park has large ponds, woodland and areas of wildflowers and the site is popular with cyclists, runners, hikers and dog walkers.
From Royden Park, the trail takes you to Montgomery Hill and Frankby Mere, then to Frankby Green and back to Royden Park.
4. West Kirby Beach to Hilbre Island – 2 miles.
Another beach route. This one takes roughly one hour to reach Hilbre Island.
The best way to reach Hilbre Island is by starting at the slipway at West Kirby beach and heading towards the smallest of the three Islands in sight, Little Eye.
5. Bidston Hill Circular Walk – 2 miles.
This is a woodland route that is slightly uphill and takes around one hour to complete.
This route passes Bidston Lighthouse, 16th Century Windmill and the grade II listed Observatory on the way.
