A WOMAN from Ellesmere Port is celebrating 30 years in business today (Wednesday, March 22).
In 1993, Julie Williams started her self-employed business career when she was just 19 after deciding to open Rainbow Balloons and Gifts and Butterflies Cake Supplies.
The shops offer balloons and gifts for any occasion, along with a large range of items for cake decoration.
Speaking to the Globe, Julie said: "I left school with ill health and decided I wouldn't be able to work for anyone else."
Julie originally traded from a start-up unit in Ellesmere Port, but after a few years moved to the Whitby Village shops and she has been there ever since.
"Reading all of the comments people have sent me has just bowled me over this morning. It's just been lovely", Julie added.

In a Facebook post, Julie said: "30 years of hard work, problem-solving, accounts and sleepless nights but also 30 years of meeting customers who have stayed loyal and become friends to the shop.
"I wouldn’t be here celebrating today without the support of my family and of course my lovely mum who I miss desperately every day.
"The support needed to keep a small business moving forward over all these years is immense and I know the people who have helped me achieve my hopes and dreams. I love you all.
"Thank you to everyone who has supported my business as it has evolved over the years and in these very difficult and testing times please remember how much small businesses need your continued support."
Julie and her team will be celebrating the anniversary by enjoying a meal together this evening.
The shops are located on Chester Road in Whitby.
